Off-grid systems work well in rural areas or in areas where there are massive power cuts.

These net-meters allow the transfer of surplus solar power generated from your rooftop solar to the grid. It also allows usage of grid electricity when your household power demand is more than solar power generation. These net meters allows the discoms to finally calculate the net use of grid power or solar power and furnish the monthly power bills acccordingly.

    It mainly depends on the promptness of the local discoms in granting persmissions, the cooperation of your vendor and the response of the National Rooftop Portal in processing the response. In case there is no meter load enchancement need, the whole process usually takes 30-60 days in most states. IRead more

    It mainly depends on the promptness of the local discoms in granting persmissions, the cooperation of your vendor and the response of the National Rooftop Portal in processing the response. In case there is no meter load enchancement need, the whole process usually takes 30-60 days in most states. In states like Gujarat the whole process often gets done within one month. In case a person wants to increase the sanctioned capacity, this process alone takes one extra month besides normal rooftop solar installation time. But the meter load enchacement request is often made before applying for rooftop solar.

For those going above 3 Kw there are no additional subsidies as the benefits are capped upto 3 KW. In addition to the central subsdies, you get additional subsidies from states too. Check out your additional state subsidies from your local discom or energy department.
