    Solar  modules are actually closer to an assembly process than manufacturing. All previous levels in the chain, from cells to wafers to ingot and polysilicon, are not made in India, other than a little captive capacity for solar cells with some manufacturers.  Most of these are imported from China and are then embedded into a panel in India. Thus, with a capacity of over 60 GW now, in future, all solar modules you see are likely to have been ‘made’ in India.
