The Indian solar glass makers were demanding sucgh duties to safeguard their interests. Now with the imposition of anti-dumping duties, the foreing import below a threshold minimum price cannot enter the Indian solar market. This can ensure a level playting field for the Indian solar glass makers who were find it tough to comete with the the ultra low prices of Chinese solar glass makers.

    Discoms offer different services in a rootop solar connection. For example they give technical feaibility report for your syatem (for connections uptp 10kw it is automated now). They also are involved in installation of net-meters. However they mainly act as quality control mechanism. Post installation, discoms check the system for safety like wiring, earthing and others which can ensure that the consumer and grid are safe with the new connection and there is no defiance in the new connections against the prescribed norms.

These net meters allows the discoms to finally calculate the net use of grid power or solar power and furnish the monthly power bills acccordingly.

    Now, with the new PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, subsidy will continue to be transferred directly to beneficiary accounts.
