    ALCM refers to the Approved List of Cell Manufacturers (ALCM). The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) recently issued a draft proposal to impose ALCM from April 1, 2027. The imposition of ALCM will ensure that the solar module makers in India have to mandatorily use only Made in India solar cells from local players. The move has now encouraged a lot of solar module makers to start their own solar cell lines. The move is likely to halt the entry of cheap solar cells from China and other countries.

However, most of the vendors offer you limited brands out of which you can choose one. Some solar panels like those made by Adani Solar, Tata Solar, Waaree Solar come at a higher price. Besides that there are several reputed solar panel makers like Premier, Goldi. RenewSys, Saatvik, Rayzon and others.

How much solar power a 3 Kw can produce everyday in a rooftop solar system?

    Usually in a residential rooftop project, a 3 Kw rooftop solar can ideally generate upto 10-12 units per day. The daily generations are usually dependent on the local weather.     Usually in a residential rooftop project, a 3 Kw rooftop solar can ideally generate upto 10-12 units per day. The daily generations are usually dependent on the local weather. Usually when there is good sunlight throughout the day, you can get the best generation (if your solar panels are clean). During clouds, rains, the generations reduces. So a system which can generate around 12 Kw per day can also generate 5 kw or 7 Kw during clouds/rains. The generation also varies season to season, depending on the quality of sunlight and availaility of sunlight.

    ALMM restrictions, effective April 1, apply to almost all solar projects. The only exception they effectively allow is for off grid projects, where you are not using the grid at all. Captive projects, since they are connected to the grid, are not exempt anymore.

    No, you should not sit on solar panels. While panels are rated to be able to carry a certain amount of weight, they are not made for carrying the sitting weight of an adult human. the occasional monkey, birds and hit by hailstones are what panels are designed to weather.
