If you are using UPS and battery for power backup, a new rooftop solar connection will not hamper the functining of your batteries and power backup. It will work like it used to work before the installation of rooftop solar.

Several solar companies provide Operations & Maintenance (O&M) service for the initial 5 years as the major components like solar panels and solar inverters provide warranty for this period. Some solar companies give regular monthly cleaning in a package during the time of installation either for a period of 5 years and even after that. There are also some companies dedicated to the O&M services at a cost. However, there are also several non-professional companies that have flourished. Some of them are seen using high pressure water and detergents to clean the solar panels. So please choose your O&M partner based on their team strength and background.

To estimate how much electricity your solar system can generate in a day, you need a few key pieces of information:

The total DC capacity of your solar system (in kW)

The average number of peak sunlight hours in your area (also called solar irradiation)

Just multiply your system size by the peak sunlight hours to get the theoretical daily generation.
For example, if you have a 3 kW system and your area gets 5 hours of good sunlight daily, then:

    3 kW × 5 hours = 15 units (kWh) per day (theoretical)

However, in real-world conditions, solar systems usually operate at about 78% to 80% efficiency due to energy losses (from wiring, inverter, dust on panels, etc.).

So, you can expect around 20% less generation than the theoretical figure.
Using the example above, the actual generation would be about:

The most common metric we see in use is typically $/watt or Rs/watt in India. As it says, what that means is you consider the module cost, and divide it by its nameplate capacity to arrive at a number. As it says, what that means is you consider the module cost, and divide it by its nameplate capacity to arrive at a number. Thus, a 500 Watt module priced at say, Rs 8000 per module will give you a RS/W cost of Rs 16 per Watt. While this measure works for smaller projects, you might want to consider many other factors for larger projects.

These range from the technology you prefer (Mono PERC or TOCon or even HJT) , to rate of degradation, thermal performance etc. With larger modules in recent years, we have also seen that these are faster and easier to install, although there is an enhanced risk of breakage as well during setup.  Similarly, how these are aligned to other key suppliers like trackers (in case you have opted for them) to even the inverters matters. So make sure to consider all these factors carefully.

Remember, cost per Watt should be your starting point, no more. Look for credible, third party validated indicators for all other key parameters, before deciding finally.
